Flo Rivers' Gift Ideas
Christmas is a special time in our family. The fresh scent of evergreen...and frying squirrel on a Christmas morning.    Plus...we get the stuff we want that we’re too cheap to go out and buy ourselves.

Here’s my gift ideas for riverrats...

 1. Cast iron skillets.  cast iron cooking supplies for web.jpgFor cooking on the riverbank or makin’ that crispy pone of cornbread at home, cast iron says ‘I love you.’  Get it at Wiley’s Outdoor Sports in Huntsville, AL, mainly because you can take a tour of the largest taxidermy display this side of the Mississippi River.
256-837-3920 ask for Mrs. Wiley.

 2. Great Loop Side Trips:  20 Cruising Adventures on Eastern North America’s Waterways by Ron & Eva Stob.  Great Loop Side Trips for web.jpgMy two favorite modern-day adventurers wrote a sequel to their Honey, Let’s Get a Boat.  I loved that book...they cruised the whole eastern half of the U.S. and Canada by boat.  My heroes.  Now they explore some of the side rivers by trailerin’.  Now that got my attention...me and ol’ Berthie the Bass Boat could do that.  They loved it so much, they founded America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association.  Anyway, get this book for the dreamer in your family.
E-mail REStob@aol.com  They’re great folks!

 3. Fishing Lure Earrings.  These two ladies in Minnesota started this company and it’s genius.  Any kind of fish you can think of...and have dangling on each ear.  Be careful around catfish ponds. Fishinfashion.com

4. Impellars.  You know...those rubber wheel lookin’ things for your boat.  They ought to sell these as a gift set.  Every boat owner I know would love you forever. Westmarine.com

5.    A Leatherman Multi-Tool
called the Squirt S4 just for gals.  This thing has a knife, screwdriver, scissors and bottle opener...but also nail file, tweezers and a ruler.  Get this...it comes in ‘Powder Puff Pink’.  With a name like Squirt S4, it better be tough. Leatherman.com

 6. What to Expect Cruising the Tennessee River  by Bob and Mavis Duthie.  cruising the TN River.jpgIt’s kind of a TV show about cruising the river with pictures so you know what to expect before you get there.  Even bigger plus, when you buy the CD, you get our good friend Fred Myers Cruising Guide on it, too.  Give it a look-see at tnrivercruising.com
