Developed by LIFE ON THE WATER Magazine publisher Christy Martin, Ladies on the Water is classes and seminars on and off the water for ladies who want to know more about boating or just meet other ladies who love the water.

Held at boat shows, marinas, marine dealerships and state parks, Ladies on the Water is a great way for ladies to talk with other ladies in boating, to ask questions they're otherwise afraid to ask, and to learn some safety, tips and fun ways to handle situations on the water.

"I can't take instruction from my husband.  He yells at me."
"I'd like to learn from another woman...I could ask questions without getting those funny looks."
"I'm divorced and want to take my kids out on the water...but I don't feel comfortable driving and docking the boat."
"I just want to know what to do if something happens to my husband.  Maybe enough to know how to get the boat back to the marina or to call for help or save someone's life."

All comments we hear from ladies who love the water but haven't had the opportunity to actually get time on the water.

At the Nashville, Huntsville, and Chattanooga boat shows, our Ladies on the Water seminars attract hundreds of ladies who want to know...
--the Five Ways to Say 'Bless Your Heart' on a Boat
--I'm on the Boat, Now What?
--the 20 Things Girls Just Gotta Have on A Cruise
--Learn the new country song 'Head for the Dock as Fast as You Want to Hit It'
(inspired by a true story)
--How to Avoid 'He Said/She Said' on the Boat
--Why 'dooey thing' and 'thingamajig' are perfectly good terms on the boat

But like Capt. Ron says in the movie...'anything that's gonna happen is gonna happen out there...'  So throughout the year, we host on-the-water classes with marine dealers, marinas, or yacht clubs and associations to give ladies actual experience maneuvering and driving...and docking.

Safety, docking, tying lines, parts of the boat, maneuvering, and the man overboard sequence.  Plus, informal conversation where you can ask all the questions you want!

If you have a group of ladies in your area that would like us to host Ladies on the Water near you, e-mail us here.  We can't wait to meet you on the water!
