It only makes sense that Alan Jackson should
headline this year's Signature Event which will take place at Lake
Martin, Ala., because he and his family have enjoyed many summer
vacations here aboard their boat. "I'm a boating nut. If I told you how
many boats I've had, you'd think I was crazy," said Jackson. "I must
have 20 woodies dating from the 1920s to 1960s. When you're out on the
water in a classic old boat, you know, it's as if you've gone back in
time. The water sure hasn't changed. I like modern boats, too, and I've
owned a lot of Sea Rays through the years."
With a 20-year
career that spans 50 million album sales and 34 number one singles,
Jackson is sure to energize the AquaPalooza crowd with a great
selection of honky-tonk songs and party anthems. "I expect this show
will be a lot like our arena shows, though we'll probably replace a few
ballads with the livelier stuff since people on their boats are
typically looking to party," he says. Jackson released his latest
album, Good Time, last year, and true to form, it has already
produced three No. 1 chart-busting hits including "Good Time," "Country
Boy" and "Small Town Southern Man", and with a fourth, "Sissy's Song"
on its way to another No. 1 spot.
